MY STORY

I'm Dori!

And this is where I'll be sharing my adventures with other adventurous people.

My love for the outdoors started at a very young age. Every summer was spent camping with my family and out on the water with the boat and/or jet ski. My fascination with the fulfillment that these adventures brought only grew with time. As the years went by I found myself spending more time on the trails and kayaking. It was in college and our first year of marriage that I became more intentional with the places we explored and truly appreciated the great outdoors. And before I knew it I was growing confident in taking on some adventures on my own!

It's without a doubt that my faith has grown stronger through my time spent in the outdoors. Time spent on the trails means extra time spent with the God of this beautiful creation. It is my hope that I not only inspire others to get out and explore the outdoors but to also connect with our great creator through these beautiful places.

I'm a photographer/artist, married to my high school sweetheart with two furbabies, capturing life through the lens one adventure at a time.

We are in no way living a glamorous lifestyle with our adventures. We just happen to be blessed that the Lord brought us to Alaska through my husband's job and we spend most of our free time exploring as much as we can.

Hunter keeps me inspired and energized in our adventures and I couldn't ask for a better life partner!

You won't see us going many places without our pups. We try to take them on every adventure and on the ones they're not with us, we seem to get homesick much quicker.

Knox is a 9-year-old Lab mix and Nala is 5-year-old Texas Heeler. You'd never guess their ages by the amount of energy they have even after our longer 8-15 mile hikes. They keep us on our toes and most times help us keep our energy up on the trails!

This past October I finally made time to pursue my Wilderness First Responder Certification and I can't believe I didn't pursue this sooner. I left this course feeling confident about exploring the outdoors and having learned so much!
